Choose a Visual Style

Getting Started2 min read

Visuals decides what fills the screen while the narrator speaks. You can pick Real Footage, AI Imagery or one of three Motion Graphics options, and every choice uses minutes at the same rate.

The Five Choices
  • Real Footage: real stock video, matched to each line of the script.
  • AI Imagery: a still picture painted for each line, with gentle motion.
  • Motion Graphics + Stock: animated graphics for each idea, beside real footage.
  • Motion Graphics + AI Imagery: the same graphics, beside AI pictures.
  • Motion Graphics Only: the graphics fill the screen.

1Find Visuals on the Create Page

Open the Visuals list in the Video Setup card. Real Footage is selected unless your Video Type suggests otherwise: History / Past Events and Storytelling / Narrative start on AI Imagery. Once you pick Visuals yourself, changing the Video Type no longer changes it.

Video settings on the Create page.

2Real Footage: Show the Real Thing

Choose Real Footage when viewers should see real places, people and work, such as a factory floor, a sales call or a classroom. Clips come from Pexels and Pixabay, and both licenses allow commercial use.

3AI Imagery: Picture What Has No Footage

Choose AI Imagery for subjects that have no footage, such as historical events or a story. Slenvox paints a still picture for each line and adds gentle motion. Slenvox does not generate AI video.

4Motion Graphics: Explain Ideas

Motion graphics are icons, numbers, shapes and short labels drawn for each idea and timed to the narration word by word. Choose Motion Graphics + Stock or Motion Graphics + AI Imagery to show them beside footage, or Motion Graphics Only for a video made of graphics. You can edit every graphic after the video is made.

Tip

Motion graphics are available in 15 of the 22 video languages. They are not available yet in Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean or Russian. Choosing one of those languages switches Visuals back to Real Footage.

5Change It Later

Visuals is fixed once production starts. To make the whole video in another style, create it again with the same script. On the review page you can still replace the footage in any single scene.
