Edits made on one computer appear on the others live. Share the login only with people you trust — anyone with the password can change account settings. One tip: always sign in with the workspace email. If your browser suggests your personal Google account, you'd accidentally create a separate free account and wonder where the team's projects went.
A device is a signed-in browser. Tabs are free — twelve tabs in Chrome still count as one device. Chrome and Safari on the same laptop are two devices, and your phone's browser is another. Incognito windows and separate browser profiles count separately too. Individual plans allow 2 devices signed in at once, Team allows 5, Business 10.
The next sign-in pauses with a choice: sign out your other devices and continue (their slots free up immediately, though those devices may stay signed in for up to an hour), or cancel and leave everything as it is. Devices that are closed free their slot automatically after about 90 minutes.
