How Long It Takes to Make a Video

Getting Started1 min read

A Slenvox video is made in three parts: the script, the scenes and the final render. Scenes start to appear about 30 seconds after you start production, and a full video is usually ready to review in about a third of its length.

Good to Know

You can leave the page while Slenvox works. Your video keeps being made, and you can open it again from your dashboard.

1Writing the Script

After you click Confirm on the Create page, Slenvox writes the script and Script Review shows each stage: understanding your topic, reading your reference materials, writing sections and polishing the flow. Long documents and long videos take longer to write.

Tip

If the script is not ready after 12 minutes, the page shows This is taking longer than expected, with a Try Again button. A script that fails is never charged.

2Making the Scenes

When you click Start Video Production, the review page opens and the first scenes appear within about 30 seconds. A full video is usually ready in about a third of its length: a 9-minute video takes around 3 minutes. Motion graphics are drawn while the scenes are made, so a graphic can appear shortly after its scene.

3Rendering the Final Video

When the preview looks right, click Finalize. Slenvox renders every scene with your edits into one MP4 file. Short videos usually finish in a few minutes, and longer videos take longer.

4Making Several Videos at Once

Each plan can make a set number of videos at the same time: 1 on Free, Lite and Plus, 2 on Pro, 3 on Max and 10 on Team. When you reach the limit, wait for a video to finish before you start the next one.
